Squarefoot Flooring is a flooring and tile store in Mississauga and Barrie, with our own in-house installation crews. Most customers come in with one room in mind and a few questions: will it handle water, will it handle the dog, and will it go over what is already there. This page shows everything we carry.

Flooring we carry

  • Vinyl plank flooring: rigid-core, WPC, glue down and loose lay planks from COREtec, MSI, Shaw, Beaulieu, Fuzion and Next Floor, most rated 100% waterproof by their makers.
  • Vinyl tile (LVT) and sheet vinyl: stone and tile looks in click and glue down tiles, and one-piece sheet vinyl from Beaulieu.
  • Laminate flooring: water resistant and standard boards, AC3 to AC6, 8 mm to 14 mm, from Toucan, Beaulieu, Fuzion, 1867, Richmond and Kronoswiss.
  • Engineered hardwood: white oak, maple, hickory and walnut, in plank and herringbone, from Appalachian, Fuzion, Anderson Tuftex, Vidar, Pravada and Biyork.
  • Solid hardwood: mostly 3/4 inch oak, maple and hickory from Appalachian, Bruce and Wickham.
  • Waterproof wood: real wood click planks with a lifetime waterproof warranty, from Next Floor.
  • Carpet and area rugs: Anderson Tuftex broadloom, Affiliated Weavers area rugs and runners, and carpet tiles.
  • Outdoor flooring: NewTechWood composite deck boards and deck tiles.

How to choose a floor

  • Kitchens, bathrooms, basements: vinyl plank or vinyl tile, most rated 100% waterproof by their makers, or porcelain tile. Water resistant laminate works in kitchens if spills are wiped up within the rated time.
  • Living rooms and bedrooms: any of our floors. Hardwood and carpet bring the most warmth.
  • Condos and concrete: vinyl, laminate or engineered hardwood, with the underlay your building requires.
  • In-floor heating: many vinyl, laminate and engineered boards are approved, some for water-based systems only. We check the maker's guide for you.

Our in-house crews install flooring across Ontario in homes, cottages and commercial spaces, including stairs, and refinish hardwood on site. Our installations carry a one year workmanship warranty. Quick answers to the questions homeowners ask most before buying.

What flooring is best for a basement?
Vinyl plank or vinyl tile, most rated 100% waterproof by their makers, is the usual basement floor. Water resistant laminate and some engineered hardwood are approved below grade too, over a dry, flat slab.
What flooring is best with pets?
Vinyl plank is the most common choice: most is rated 100% waterproof and it handles claws and spills. Water resistant laminate with an AC4 or AC5 rating is another good option.
What is the difference between vinyl and laminate?
Vinyl has a vinyl or stone polymer core, and most of our vinyl plank is rated 100% waterproof. Laminate has a fibreboard core; our water resistant laminate is rated for a set number of hours, and standard laminate generally has no water rating. Most laminate and click vinyl float, while glue down vinyl is fixed to the subfloor.
Do you install flooring?
Yes. Our own in-house crews install flooring across Ontario, including stairs, and our installations carry a one year workmanship warranty.
Do you deliver outside Mississauga and Barrie?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in Canada, to your door or to the nearest transport company terminal.
Do you sell tile as well as flooring?

What should I bring to the store?
Your room sizes, a photo of the space and the type of subfloor if you know it. We will work out what you need, including the extra for cuts.
