Appalachian Flooring Alta Moda Engineered Hardwood
Ask any installer what separates good engineered hardwood from the rest and they will point at the wear layer, not the price tag.
In simple terms: Appalachian Flooring Alta Moda pairs a real red oak top layer with an engineered core built for stability. It gives you a genuine wood floor that can go where solid planks cannot, and we carry and install it ourselves.
The wood and the build: It comes in Red Oak and White Oak. The core is the quiet workhorse here. A dimensionally stable engineered core resists the expansion and contraction that makes solid wood cup, gap, or lift. Widths run from 4 to 7 inches, so you can keep it classic or go wide-plank and modern. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. It is a character grade, with natural colour variation and knots. It carries a 35-year warranty.
Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.
Decision line: pick the species for the room, a harder one like oak or hickory for busy main floors, a softer walnut for formal spaces, then let the wear-layer thickness tell you how long it will last.
A small sample never shows how Appalachian Alta Moda moves across a whole room. See it at our Mississauga or Barrie showroom, contact us about availability, and compare materials on the hardwood vs vinyl guide. For the full Appalachian Flooring range, see our Appalachian Flooring page.
