Biyork Floors Oak Engineered Hardwood
The reason engineered hardwood exists is simple. Concrete slabs, basements, and radiant heat will destroy a solid floor, and engineered was built to handle all three.
In simple terms: Biyork Floors Oak is real oak over a multi-ply core. The surface is the same wood you would get in a solid floor; the core is what keeps it flat over a slab, in a basement, or through the seasons. We stock it and our crew installs it.
Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Biyork Oak behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.
The detail behind that: It is real oak, a warm, familiar grain that takes stain well and suits almost any room. Its wear layer is a thick 4mm of real wood, enough to sand and refinish more than once, just like a solid floor. The real advantage is underneath: a dimensionally stable engineered core that stays flat through Ontario's dry winters and humid summers, where a solid plank would cup or gap. Micro-bevelled edges give each plank a defined line and absorb the seasonal movement of a wood floor. It is a character grade, with natural colour variation and knots. It carries a 30-year warranty.
Our installers handle Biyork Floors Oak from subfloor moisture testing to the final trim, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. Over concrete we typically glue down, over plywood we nail or float, and the prep is where the job is won. See the hardwood installation page.
We keep Biyork Oak at both showrooms, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages. See more Biyork Floors options on our Biyork Floors page.
