In simple terms: Vidar Flooring White Ash 7-1/2" is genuine ash on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.

Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Vidar White Ash 7-1/2" behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.

The detail behind that: It is real ash, a pale, straight grain with a clean, modern look. Ash sits around 1320 on the Janka hardness scale, right at the oak benchmark for everyday durability. It carries a 3mm dry-sawn wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. The real advantage is underneath: a cross-layered engineered core that stays flat through Ontario's dry winters and humid summers, where a solid plank would cup or gap. That is why it can go over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Widths run from 7 to 7 1/2 inches, so you can keep it classic or go wide-plank and modern. A low-sheen matte finish keeps dust and footprints from showing. Micro-bevelled edges give each plank a defined line and absorb the seasonal movement of a wood floor. Colours in the range include Essential, Day Break, Sandy, Ebony, and Whistler.

Engineered hardwood gives you options solid wood does not: glue-down over concrete, floating, or nail-down over plywood.
