The detail behind that: The core here is rigid-core, a stone-and-polymer composite that is denser and more rigid than standard vinyl. That rigidity is what lets it sit flat over an imperfect subfloor and hold its shape year-round, and it installs as a floating click floor. With an IIC rating around 77 and an STC around 75, it meets the sound ratings most Toronto and Mississauga condo boards require, which is often the deciding factor in a high-rise. Planks run up to 7 inches wide and 60 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. The surface is embossed in register, so the texture follows the printed grain and reads convincingly like wood. On the health side, it is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality. It is backed by a 20-year residential and 8-year Light commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Macaroon, Yukon, Naked Oak, Toffee Crunch, and Camel.
