Purparket Flooring Gravity European Engineered Hardwood
Most people choose engineered hardwood for the look and keep it for the stability, the part you only appreciate after a few Ontario winters.
In simple terms: Purparket Flooring Gravity European is a real-wood floor, a layer of genuine white oak bonded to a stable engineered core. It looks and feels like solid hardwood, but the core lets it handle concrete, basements, and humidity that would move a solid plank. We carry it and our own crew installs it.
It is real white oak, a cooler, more contemporary cast with a tighter grain than red oak, and a touch harder. On the Janka scale White Oak runs about 1360, about as hard as oak, fine for daily household use. What you are paying for is stability. A dimensionally stable engineered core holds its shape across the seasonal humidity swing that moves solid wood. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. It is offered from Select and Better through more characterful grades, so you can pick clean and uniform or full of natural variation.
Decision line: choose Gravity European when you want genuine hardwood that will stay flat over a slab or in a basement.
Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.
A small sample never shows how Gravity European moves across a whole room. See it at our Mississauga or Barrie showroom, contact us about availability, and compare materials on the hardwood vs vinyl guide.
