Vidar Flooring Water Resistant Water-Resistant Laminate
In a busy kitchen or entry, the question is not whether water hits the floor but whether the floor can take it.
In simple terms: Vidar Flooring Water Resistant is a 12mm AC5 rated water-resistant laminate, a floor built to take water in the rooms where that matters. Squarefoot Flooring carries it, and our own crew installs it.
The Vidar Water Resistant range is built around an embossed-in-register wood-grain surface. The range includes tones such as SD25, NK25, TF25, DB25, and HZ.
The construction backs up the look. Vidar Water Resistant runs a 12mm board on the thicker end of the range, which gives a solid, quiet step and bridges minor subfloor irregularities better than thin planks. It carries an AC5 wear rating, the level specified for light commercial use, so it shrugs off heavy household traffic, rentals, and high-use entries. The core is high-density fibreboard, which resists denting and holds the locking profile better than the cheaper particleboard in budget laminate. The surface is embossed in register, so the texture lines up with the printed grain and the floor reads and feels like real wood rather than a flat photo. It installs with a drop-lock click system, a glue-free floating install that keeps labour costs down and lets the floor be lifted and reused later. It is rated for 72 hours of surface water protection, which in practice means a spill, a melting ice cube, or a wet boot will not swell the seams as long as it is wiped up in good time. It is backed by a 35-year residential and 15-year commercial warranty. Because of that core, Vidar Water Resistant holds up in the rooms that sink a standard laminate: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries.
Decision line: choose Vidar Water Resistant for any room that meets water, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries; for dry bedrooms and living rooms, a standard laminate will also do the job for less.
Installation is in-house across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. A floating floor needs a flat, dry base, so subfloor prep and underlayment are where we spend the time. See the laminate installation page.
We keep Vidar Water Resistant at both showrooms so you can judge it under room light. contact us about availability, or browse the full water-resistant laminate range for more options.
