Toucan Flooring Studio White Engineered Hardwood
Most people choose engineered hardwood for the look and keep it for the stability, the part you only appreciate after a few Ontario winters.
In simple terms: Toucan Flooring Studio White is genuine white oak on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.
The wood and the build: It is real white oak, a cooler, more contemporary cast with a tighter grain than red oak, and a touch harder. On the Janka scale White Oak runs about 1360, about as hard as oak, fine for daily household use. The wear layer is 2mm of real wood, enough for one careful refinish down the road. The core is the quiet workhorse here. A multi-ply core resists the expansion and contraction that makes solid wood cup, gap, or lift. Planks run 6 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. Colours in the range include TCN101 - Oyster, TCN102 - Tusk, TCN103 - Sable, TCN104 - Woodland, and TCN105 - Sky.
We install Toucan Flooring Studio White with our own team, not subcontractors, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. The method depends on the subfloor, glued to concrete, floated, or nailed to plywood, and a flat, dry base matters more than anything. Read how we work on the hardwood installation page, or see our projects.
Decision line: choose Toucan Studio White when you want genuine hardwood that will stay flat over a slab or in a basement.
We keep Toucan Studio White at both showrooms, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages. For the full Toucan Flooring range, see our Toucan Flooring page.
