Why TF81 Stands Out

Spills, wet boots, and pet bowls are where ordinary laminate gives up, right at the seams.

In simple terms: Toucan Flooring TF81 is a 10mm AC4 rated water-resistant laminate, a floor built to take water in the rooms where that matters. Squarefoot Flooring carries it, and our own crew installs it.

TF81 runs a 10mm board that feels solid underfoot and helps deaden sound in a room. It carries an AC4 wear rating, a step above standard that holds up to busy family households, hallways, and main floors. The core is high-density fibreboard, which resists denting and holds the locking profile better than the cheaper particleboard in budget laminate. The surface is embossed in register, so the texture lines up with the printed grain and the floor reads and feels like real wood rather than a flat photo. It installs with a drop-lock click system, a glue-free floating install that keeps labour costs down and lets the floor be lifted and reused later. It is rated for 72 hours of surface water protection, which in practice means a spill, a melting ice cube, or a wet boot will not swell the seams as long as it is wiped up in good time. It is backed by a 30-year residential and 15-year commercial warranty.

Because of that core, TF81 holds up in the rooms that sink a standard laminate: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries. The range includes tones such as 01 Clam, 02 Nubian, 04 Dune, 05 Oyster, and 07 Muscatine.

Decision line: choose TF81 for any room that meets water, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries; for dry bedrooms and living rooms, a standard laminate will also do the job for less.

Installation is in-house across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. A floating floor needs a flat, dry base, so subfloor prep and underlayment are where we spend the time. See the laminate installation page.

Laminate looks very different in a full plank under room light than in a small photo, so it is worth seeing TF81 in person. We keep it at both stores; contact us to confirm stock, or browse the full water-resistant laminate range.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Toucan Flooring TF81?
Toucan Flooring TF81 is a 10mm AC4 rated water-resistant laminate. It is built to handle water in kitchens, baths, and entries, where standard laminate tends to fail at the seams. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Is TF81 actually waterproof?
TF81 is rated for 72 hours of surface water protection, which in practice means a spill, a melting ice cube, or a wet boot will not swell the seams as long as it is wiped up in good time. Standing water left for long stretches should still be wiped up, but everyday spills, pet bowls, and wet boots will not swell the seams the way they do on ordinary laminate.
Which rooms is TF81 suitable for?
An ac4 wear rating. In practice that covers main floors, hallways, living rooms, and busy family spaces, and its water-resistant core adds kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries.
What warranty does TF81 carry?
TF81 is backed by a 30-year residential and 15-year commercial warranty. Terms vary with the application, and we will confirm the coverage for your specific use before you order.
Where can I see TF81 near me?
You can see Toucan Flooring TF81 at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. A full plank under room light reads very differently from a photo, so we recommend seeing a sample before deciding.
