Oakel City Floor Master Step Water-Resistant Laminate

Oakel City Floor Master Step is a 12mm AC5 rated water-resistant laminate, with a water-resistant core for the spills, pets, and wet boots that come with kitchens, baths, and entries. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Near a kitchen sink or a back door in an Ontario home, the first thing a cheap floor does is swell at the seams.

In simple terms: Oakel City Floor Master Step is a 12mm AC5 rated water-resistant laminate. It is meant for the rooms where water is part of daily life, and our own crew installs it.

The Master Step range is built around an embossed-in-register wood-grain surface. The range includes tones such as Jasper, Bella, Dolly, Atlanta, and Monica.

The construction backs up the look. Master Step runs a 12mm board on the thicker end of the range, which gives a solid, quiet step and bridges minor subfloor irregularities better than thin planks. It carries an AC5 wear rating, the level specified for light commercial use, so it shrugs off heavy household traffic, rentals, and high-use entries. The surface is embossed in register, so the texture lines up with the printed grain and the floor reads and feels like real wood rather than a flat photo. It installs with a click-lock system, a glue-free floating install that keeps labour costs down and lets the floor be lifted and reused later. It has a water-resistant core, which lets it handle the spills and humidity that would swell a standard laminate at the joints. It is backed by a 25-year residential warranty. Because of that core, Master Step holds up in the rooms that sink a standard laminate: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries.

Decision line: choose Master Step for any room that meets water, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries; for dry bedrooms and living rooms, a standard laminate will also do the job for less.

We install Oakel City Floor Master Step with our own crew, never subcontracted, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. Most laminate problems trace back to the subfloor, so we level it, underlay it correctly, and finish the transitions. More on the laminate installation page.

A photo flattens the texture, so see Master Step in person before deciding. It is at both showrooms, you can contact us for current stock, and the vinyl vs laminate guide helps if you are still choosing a material.
