Why Riche European Oak Stands Out

There is a lot of marketing noise around engineered hardwood, but it comes down to two things that matter: how thick the real-wood layer is, and how stable the core is.

In simple terms: Riche Flooring European Oak pairs a real oak top layer with an engineered core built for stability. It gives you a genuine wood floor that can go where solid planks cannot, and we carry and install it ourselves.

It is real oak, a warm, familiar grain that takes stain well and suits almost any room. It carries a 3mm wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. The real advantage is underneath: a multi-ply core that stays flat through Ontario's dry winters and humid summers, where a solid plank would cup or gap. Widths run from 2 to 7 1/2 inches, so you can keep it classic or go wide-plank and modern. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. It is a character grade, with natural colour variation and knots. Colours in the range include Slate, English Gray, Chai Tea, Harvest, and Berkley.

Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Riche European Oak behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.

Engineered hardwood gives you options solid wood does not: glue-down over concrete, floating, or nail-down over plywood. Our own crew installs Riche Flooring European Oak across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted, and we flatten and moisture-test the subfloor first, finish the trim, and handle matching stairs. See our hardwood installation page.

Wood reads differently across a full floor than in a sample chip, so it is worth seeing Riche European Oak under room light at either store. Contact us to check availability, or browse the full hardwood flooring range.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Riche Flooring European Oak?
Riche Flooring European Oak is engineered hardwood, a layer of real oak bonded to a stable multi-ply core. It looks and sands like solid wood but stays flat over concrete, in basements, and through Ontario's humidity. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Can Riche European Oak be sanded and refinished?
Yes. Riche European Oak has a 3mm real-wood wear layer, thick enough to sand and refinish at least once over its life.
Where can I see Riche European Oak near me?
You can see Riche Flooring European Oak at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Grain and finish read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
