Midgley West Pietra Lavica Gryphea Tessere Mosaic Tile 13"x13" - Lappato

Pietra Lavica Gryphea Tessere at 13" x 13" is where most floors land. It suits a bathroom, a kitchen, an entry or a whole main floor without looking out of scale. The lappato finish is part polished, part matte, which gives you some shine without the full slip of a polish. Porcelain absorbs almost no water, which is what lets it go into a shower, a mudroom or a covered porch without any fuss. The colours in this line are not all rated the same: PEI runs 4 to 5 across them, so check the rating on the one you are actually buying before it goes anywhere busy. Work on 5.71 sq ft a box. That puts a 100 sq ft floor at 20 boxes with ten percent in hand, which is what you want for cuts and breakage. Worth seeing in person in Mississauga or Barrie, because lighting changes tile more than people expect.
