Midgley West Pietra Lavica Fuligo Tile 12"x24" - Lappato

Pietra Lavica Fuligo, 12" x 24", is the size most bathroom and kitchen floors settle on. Big enough that you are not grouting all weekend, small enough to cut cleanly around a vanity. The lappato finish is part polished, part matte, which gives you some shine without the full slip of a polish. Porcelain is the hard wearing one. It is what we put down in a hallway, an entry or anywhere boots and grit arrive. The colours in this line are not all rated the same: PEI runs 4 to 5 across them, so check the rating on the one you are actually buying before it goes anywhere busy. A box holds 11.63 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 10 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece. Have a look at it in Mississauga or Barrie before you order, ideally next to whatever it is going beside.
