Anderson Tuftex Metallics II Engineered Hardwood

Anderson Tuftex Metallics II is white oak engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core, rated for below-grade rooms and radiant heat, with a 4mm wear layer you can refinish. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Real wood on top, a stable core underneath: that combination is why engineered hardwood ends up in more Toronto condos and finished basements than solid ever could.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Metallics II is genuine white oak on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.

It is real white oak, a cooler, more contemporary cast with a tighter grain than red oak, and a touch harder. White Oak sits around 1360 on the Janka hardness scale, right at the oak benchmark for everyday durability. Its wear layer is a thick 4mm of real wood, enough to sand and refinish more than once, just like a solid floor. The core is the quiet workhorse here. A cross-layered engineered core resists the expansion and contraction that makes solid wood cup, gap, or lift. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank and disguise the small seasonal movement every wood floor has.

Decision line: Metallics II is the pick when you want real, refinishable wood that can still handle a slab, a basement, or radiant heat.

We install Anderson Tuftex Metallics II with our own team, not subcontractors, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. The method depends on the subfloor, glued to concrete, floated, or nailed to plywood, and a flat, dry base matters more than anything. Read how we work on the hardwood installation page, or see our projects.

Wood reads differently across a full floor than in a sample chip, so it is worth seeing Metallics II under room light at either showroom. Since it works over radiant heat, it goes well with the in-floor heating membranes we carry. Contact us to check availability, or browse the full hardwood flooring range.
