Anderson Tuftex European Ash Engineered Hardwood

Anderson Tuftex European Ash is ash engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core, rated for below-grade rooms and radiant heat, with a 4mm wear layer you can refinish. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

The reason engineered hardwood exists is simple. Concrete slabs, basements, and radiant heat will destroy a solid floor, and engineered was built to handle all three.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex European Ash is genuine ash on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.

It is real ash, a pale, straight grain with a clean, modern look. On the Janka scale Ash runs about 1320, about as hard as oak, fine for daily household use. Its wear layer is a thick 4mm of real wood, enough to sand and refinish more than once, just like a solid floor. What you are paying for is stability. A cross-layered engineered core holds its shape across the seasonal humidity swing that moves solid wood. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. The planks have micro-bevelled edges, which frame each board and hide the slight height differences that come with real wood.

Decision line: European Ash is the pick when you want real, refinishable wood that can still handle a slab, a basement, or radiant heat.

Engineered hardwood gives you options solid wood does not: glue-down over concrete, floating, or nail-down over plywood. Our own crew installs Anderson Tuftex European Ash across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted, and we flatten and moisture-test the subfloor first, finish the trim, and handle matching stairs. See our hardwood installation page.

Wood reads differently across a full floor than in a sample chip, so it is worth seeing European Ash under room light at either showroom. Because it is rated for radiant heat, it also pairs with the in-floor heating membranes we stock. Contact us to check availability, or browse the full hardwood flooring range.
