Choosing Your Installation Method

• Click-Lock (SPC vs. WPC): The "floating floor" standard for residential use. SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) features a rigid limestone core, making it incredibly dent-resistant and stable—perfect for sunrooms or cottages near Barrie. WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) offers a foamed core for maximum warmth and comfort underfoot.
• Loose Lay Vinyl: High-friction backing keeps these planks in place without glue. They offer incredible sound absorption and are the easiest floors to repair or replace individually.
• Dry Back (Glue Down): Required for high-traffic retail or medical spaces. Using professional vinyl adhesives, these planks are permanently bonded to prevent shifting under heavy rolling loads.

Technical Performance: Wear Layers & Sun Exposure

The lifespan of your floor is determined by the Wear Layer. For active homes with pets or light commercial use, we recommend a 20mil wear layer or higher.

Pro Tip for Ontario Homeowners: In rooms with large south-facing windows, we highly recommend SPC Rigid Core. Standard vinyl can expand in direct sunlight, but SPC’s stone-based core remains stable even under high heat exposure.

Subfloor Prep & Underlayment

A waterproof floor is only as good as the subfloor beneath it. Vinyl is flexible, so your subfloor must be flat and level. We carry professional self-leveling & patching compounds to ensure a flawless install. While many planks feature attached pads, condo dwellers may require additional vinyl underlayments to meet strict IIC sound-rating bylaws.
