A flat, dry subfloor is essential. The 20 mil wear layer puts it in heavy-residential, light-commercial territory, which is where vinyl earns its keep in a family home. It carries an IIC rating around 69 and an STC around 64, so it clears the sound-transfer rules most GTA condo boards set, a common sticking point in high-rises. Tiles come in a 12 by 24 inch format.
