Simba Flooring Hickory Engineered Hardwood

Simba Flooring Hickory is hickory engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Engineered hardwood gets dismissed as the budget option, which misses the point: it is real wood built to go where a solid plank fails.

In simple terms: Simba Flooring Hickory pairs a real hickory top layer with an engineered core built for stability. It gives you a genuine wood floor that can go where solid planks cannot, and we carry and install it ourselves.

It is real hickory, dramatic grain, natural colour variation, and the hardest common domestic species. Hickory sits around 1820 on the Janka hardness scale, well above the red oak benchmark, so it shrugs off busy traffic. It uses a 1.2mm wear layer, built to be lived on rather than resanded, so it is best treated as a durable finished floor. What you are paying for is stability. A cross-layered engineered core holds its shape across the seasonal humidity swing that moves solid wood. Widths run from 5 to 7 1/2 inches, so you can keep it classic or go wide-plank and modern. It carries a 25-year warranty. Colours in the range include Battleship, Bristol, Summer, Venezuela, and American.

Decision line: choose Simba Hickory for the look and the stability, not for repeated sanding; the wear layer is built to be lived on.

Our installers handle Simba Flooring Hickory from subfloor moisture testing to the final trim, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. Over concrete we typically glue down, over plywood we nail or float, and the prep is where the job is won. See the hardwood installation page.

We keep Simba Hickory at both showrooms, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages.
