Why Grandeur Maple Stands Out

There is a lot of marketing noise around engineered hardwood, but it comes down to two things that matter: how thick the real-wood layer is, and how stable the core is.

In simple terms: Grandeur Flooring Maple is real maple over a multi-ply core. The surface is the same wood you would get in a solid floor; the core is what keeps it flat over a slab, in a basement, or through the seasons. We stock it and our crew installs it.

Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Grandeur Maple behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.

The detail behind that: It is real maple, a fine, even grain that reads light and clean, at home in contemporary spaces. Maple sits around 1450 on the Janka hardness scale, well above the red oak benchmark, so it shrugs off busy traffic. It carries a 3mm wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. Underneath the wood is a dimensionally stable engineered core, and that is the whole point: it keeps the floor flat where a solid board would react to the seasons. A handscraped surface gives it a worn, characterful look. It carries a 35-year residential warranty. Colours in the range include Engineered Legacy Rum, Divine Engineered Aries, Divine Engineered Leo, Divine Engineered Libra, and Divine Engineered Scorpio.

Engineered hardwood gives you options solid wood does not: glue-down over concrete, floating, or nail-down over plywood. Our own crew installs Grandeur Flooring Maple across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted, and we flatten and moisture-test the subfloor first, finish the trim, and handle matching stairs. See our hardwood installation page.

It is worth seeing Grandeur Maple in person before deciding. Visit either store, contact us to confirm current stock, and see more in the engineered hardwood range. See more Grandeur Flooring options on our Grandeur Flooring page.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Grandeur Flooring Maple?
Grandeur Flooring Maple is engineered hardwood, a layer of real maple bonded to a stable multi-ply core. It looks and sands like solid wood but stays flat over concrete, in basements, and through Ontario's humidity. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Can Grandeur Maple be sanded and refinished?
Yes. Grandeur Maple has a 3mm real-wood wear layer, thick enough to sand and refinish at least once over its life.
How hard is Grandeur Maple, and will it dent?
The maple surface sits around 1450 on the Janka hardness scale, well above the red oak benchmark of 1290, so it resists dents and busy traffic well. No wood floor is dent-proof, but the wear layer and finish do most of the work.
Where can I see Grandeur Maple near me?
You can see Grandeur Flooring Maple at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Grain and finish read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
