GoodFellow Flooring Wellington Ridge White Oak Engineered Hardwood
Most people choose engineered hardwood for the look and keep it for the stability, the part you only appreciate after a few Ontario winters.
In simple terms: GoodFellow Flooring Wellington Ridge White Oak pairs a real white oak top layer with an engineered core built for stability. It gives you a genuine wood floor that can go where solid planks cannot, and we carry and install it ourselves.
Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Wellington Ridge White Oak behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.
The detail behind that: It is real white oak, a cooler, more contemporary cast with a tighter grain than red oak, and a touch harder. On the Janka scale White Oak runs about 1360, about as hard as oak, fine for daily household use. It carries a 3mm wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. Underneath the wood is a dimensionally stable engineered core, and that is the whole point: it keeps the floor flat where a solid board would react to the seasons. That is why it can go over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 3 1/2 inches wide. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. It carries a 25-year residential warranty. Colours in the range include Aberfoyle, Arkell, Camilla Natural, Drayton, and Everton.
We install GoodFellow Flooring Wellington Ridge White Oak with our own team, not subcontractors, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. The method depends on the subfloor, glued to concrete, floated, or nailed to plywood, and a flat, dry base matters more than anything. Read how we work on the hardwood installation page, or see our projects.
It is worth seeing Wellington Ridge White Oak in person before deciding. Visit either showroom, contact us to confirm current stock, and see more in the engineered hardwood range. It is radiant-rated, so it pairs with the in-floor heating membranes we stock for in-floor heating projects. See more GoodFellow Flooring options on our GoodFellow Flooring page.
