Anderson Tuftex Revival Walnut Herringbone Engineered Hardwood

Anderson Tuftex Revival Walnut Herringbone is walnut engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core, rated for on, above, and below grade, with a 4.5mm wear layer you can refinish. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie stores, or browse online.

There is a lot of marketing noise around engineered hardwood, but it comes down to two things that matter: how thick the real-wood layer is, and how stable the core is.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Revival Walnut Herringbone is a real-wood floor, a layer of genuine walnut bonded to a stable engineered core. It looks and feels like solid hardwood, but the core lets it handle concrete, basements, and humidity that would move a solid plank. We carry it and our own crew installs it.

Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Revival Walnut Herringbone behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.

The detail behind that: It is real walnut, a deep chocolate tone with a soft, formal character. On the Janka scale Walnut runs about 1010, below oak, so it favours lower-traffic, formal spaces. Its wear layer is a thick 4.5mm of real wood, enough to sand and refinish more than once, just like a solid floor. Underneath the wood is a cross-layered engineered core, and that is the whole point: it keeps the floor flat where a solid board would react to the seasons. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, places solid hardwood cannot. The surface is smooth, a clean and contemporary finish. The planks have micro-bevelled edges, which frame each board and hide the slight height differences that come with real wood.

Our installers handle Anderson Tuftex Revival Walnut Herringbone from subfloor moisture testing to the final trim, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. Over concrete we typically glue down, over plywood we nail or float, and the prep is where the job is won. See the hardwood installation page.

We keep Revival Walnut Herringbone at both stores, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages. For the full Anderson Tuftex range, see our Anderson Tuftex page.
