Anderson Tuftex Chateau Oak Engineered Hardwood

Anderson Tuftex Chateau Oak is oak engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core, rated for below-grade rooms and radiant heat, with a 3mm wear layer you can refinish. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Engineered hardwood gets dismissed as the budget option, which misses the point: it is real wood built to go where a solid plank fails.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Chateau Oak is engineered hardwood, which means a real oak surface over a cross-layered core. You get the look of solid wood with the stability to put it over concrete or in a basement. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it in-house.

Decision line: Chateau Oak is the pick when you want real, refinishable wood that can still handle a slab, a basement, or radiant heat.

The detail behind that: It is real oak, a warm, familiar grain that takes stain well and suits almost any room. It carries a 3mm wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. The real advantage is underneath: a cross-layered engineered core that stays flat through Ontario's dry winters and humid summers, where a solid plank would cup or gap. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. Micro-bevelled edges give each plank a defined line and absorb the seasonal movement of a wood floor.

Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.

It is worth seeing Chateau Oak in person before deciding. Visit either showroom, contact us to confirm current stock, and see more in the engineered hardwood range. Since it works over radiant heat, it goes well with the in-floor heating membranes we carry. For the full Anderson Tuftex range, see our Anderson Tuftex page.
