This is a WPC floor, a wood-polymer composite core that is rigid like rigid-core but with a little more give, so it feels warmer and softer underfoot and runs quieter, a nice touch in kitchens and rooms you stand in for a while. It has a 12 mil wear layer, enough for normal household traffic in bedrooms, living rooms, and quieter spaces. It is 100% waterproof top to bottom, not merely water-resistant, so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and entries are all fair game. An attached acoustic underlayment cuts down sound transfer and adds a little underfoot comfort, and it saves a separate pad on install. Planks run up to 7 inches wide and 48 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. It is backed by a 30-year Resilient residential warranty.
