Richmond Flooring Glencoe 6.5 Engineered Hardwood

Richmond Flooring Glencoe 6.5 is engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

There is a lot of marketing noise around engineered hardwood, but it comes down to two things that matter: how thick the real-wood layer is, and how stable the core is.

In simple terms: Richmond Flooring Glencoe 6.5 is engineered hardwood, which means a real hickory surface over a cross-layered core. You get the look of solid wood with the stability to put it over concrete or in a basement. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it in-house.

Decision line: pick the species for the room, a harder one like oak or hickory for busy main floors, a softer walnut for formal spaces, then let the wear-layer thickness tell you how long it will last.

The detail behind that: It comes in Hickory and Maple. The core is the quiet workhorse here. A cross-layered engineered core resists the expansion and contraction that makes solid wood cup, gap, or lift. Planks run 6 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. Colours in the range include Medium.

We install Richmond Flooring Glencoe 6.5 with our own team, not subcontractors, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. The method depends on the subfloor, glued to concrete, floated, or nailed to plywood, and a flat, dry base matters more than anything. Read how we work on the hardwood installation page, or see our projects.

We keep Glencoe 6.5 at both showrooms, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages.
