Richmond Flooring Belvedere Hickory Engineered Hardwood

Richmond Flooring Belvedere Hickory is hickory engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Engineered hardwood gets dismissed as the budget option, which misses the point: it is real wood built to go where a solid plank fails.

In simple terms: Richmond Flooring Belvedere Hickory is genuine hickory on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.

It is real hickory, dramatic grain, natural colour variation, and the hardest common domestic species. On the Janka scale Hickory runs about 1820, harder than oak and a strong choice for high-traffic rooms. The core is the quiet workhorse here. A multi-ply core resists the expansion and contraction that makes solid wood cup, gap, or lift. Planks run 7 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. Colours in the range include Medium.

Decision line: Belvedere Hickory is the practical middle ground, real wood with the stability to go over concrete, into basements, and across the seasons.

Our installers handle Richmond Flooring Belvedere Hickory from subfloor moisture testing to the final trim, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. Over concrete we typically glue down, over plywood we nail or float, and the prep is where the job is won. See the hardwood installation page.

Wood reads differently across a full floor than in a sample chip, so it is worth seeing Belvedere Hickory under room light at either showroom. Contact us to check availability, or browse the full hardwood flooring range.
