Tulip Tungsten, 3" x 14", is the size most bathroom and kitchen floors settle on. Big enough that you are not grouting all weekend, small enough to cut cleanly around a vanity. A natural finish holds grip when it is wet and does not show water spotting the way a polished face does. The density is the point with porcelain: very little water gets in, which is what keeps it stable in a bathroom or a laundry. PEI 3 covers everything in a normal house, from a bedroom through to a kitchen, though not a commercial floor. A box holds 6.48 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 17 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece.
