Falcon Floors Hickory Engineered Hardwood

Falcon Floors Hickory is hickory engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

There is a lot of marketing noise around engineered hardwood, but it comes down to two things that matter: how thick the real-wood layer is, and how stable the core is.

In simple terms: Falcon Floors Hickory is engineered hardwood, which means a real hickory surface over a cross-layered core. You get the look of solid wood with the stability to put it over concrete or in a basement. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it in-house.

It is real hickory, dramatic grain, natural colour variation, and the hardest common domestic species. On the Janka scale Hickory runs about 1820, harder than oak and a strong choice for high-traffic rooms. Underneath the wood is a multi-ply core, and that is the whole point: it keeps the floor flat where a solid board would react to the seasons. Planks run 6 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. A handscraped surface gives it a worn, characterful look. Colours in the range include Euro Grey, Grey Stone, and Silver Fox.

Decision line: choose Falcon Hickory when you want genuine hardwood that will stay flat over a slab or in a basement.

Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.

Wood reads differently across a full floor than in a sample chip, so it is worth seeing Falcon Hickory under room light at either showroom. Contact us to check availability, or browse the full hardwood flooring range.
