GoodFellow Flooring Wellington Heights White Oak Engineered Hardwood
Real wood on top, a stable core underneath: that combination is why engineered hardwood ends up in more Toronto condos and finished basements than solid ever could.
In simple terms: GoodFellow Flooring Wellington Heights White Oak is a real-wood floor, a layer of genuine white oak bonded to a stable engineered core. It looks and feels like solid hardwood, but the core lets it handle concrete, basements, and humidity that would move a solid plank. We carry it and our own crew installs it.
It is real white oak, a cooler, more contemporary cast with a tighter grain than red oak, and a touch harder. White Oak sits around 1360 on the Janka hardness scale, right at the oak benchmark for everyday durability. It carries a 3mm wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. Underneath the wood is a multi-ply core, and that is the whole point: it keeps the floor flat where a solid board would react to the seasons. That is why it can go over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 5 inches wide. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. It carries a 25-year residential warranty. Colours in the range include Aberfoyle, Arkell, Camilla Natural, Chelsey, and Drayton.
Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Wellington Heights White Oak behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.
Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.
A small sample never shows how Wellington Heights White Oak moves across a whole room. See it at our Mississauga or Barrie showroom, contact us about availability, and compare materials on the hardwood vs vinyl guide. Because it is rated for radiant heat, it also pairs with the in-floor heating membranes we stock. For the full GoodFellow Flooring range, see our GoodFellow Flooring page.
