It carries a 3mm dry-sawn wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. The core is the quiet workhorse here. A 3-layer solid core resists the expansion and contraction that makes solid wood cup, gap, or lift. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 7 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. A low-sheen finish keeps dust and footprints from showing. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank and disguise the small seasonal movement every wood floor has. It carries a 35-year residential and lifetime structural warranty.
