Fuzion Flooring Coastline Hickory Engineered Hardwood
Real wood on top, a stable core underneath: that combination is why engineered hardwood ends up in more Toronto condos and finished basements than solid ever could.
In simple terms: Fuzion Flooring Coastline Hickory is genuine hickory on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.
Decision line: Coastline Hickory is the practical middle ground, real wood with the stability to go over concrete, into basements, and across the seasons.
The detail behind that: It is real hickory, dramatic grain, natural colour variation, and the hardest common domestic species. On the Janka scale Hickory runs about 1820, harder than oak and a strong choice for high-traffic rooms. The wear layer is 2mm of real wood, enough for one careful refinish down the road. Stability comes from the build: a cross-layered engineered core that takes the seasonal swing in stride instead of telegraphing it into the floor. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 7 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. A low-sheen finish keeps dust and footprints from showing. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank and disguise the small seasonal movement every wood floor has. It carries a 35-year residential and lifetime structural warranty.
Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.
It is worth seeing Coastline Hickory in person before deciding. Visit either store, contact us to confirm current stock, and see more in the engineered hardwood range. See more Fuzion Flooring options on our Fuzion Flooring page.
