Why Coastline European Oak Stands Out

The reason engineered hardwood exists is simple. Concrete slabs, basements, and radiant heat will destroy a solid floor, and engineered was built to handle all three.

In simple terms: Fuzion Flooring Coastline European Oak is genuine oak on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.

The wood and the build: It is real oak, a warm, familiar grain that takes stain well and suits almost any room. The wear layer is 2mm of real wood, enough for one careful refinish down the road. Stability comes from the build: a dimensionally stable engineered core that takes the seasonal swing in stride instead of telegraphing it into the floor. That is why it may be suitable for on-grade or above-grade use, and some collections for below-grade use when approved, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 7 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. A low-sheen finish keeps dust and footprints from showing. The planks have micro-bevelled edges, which frame each board and hide the slight height differences that come with real wood. It carries a 35-year residential and lifetime structural warranty.

Our installers handle Fuzion Flooring Coastline European Oak from subfloor moisture testing to the final trim, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. Over concrete we typically glue down, over plywood we nail or float, and the prep is where the job is won. See the hardwood installation page.

Decision line: choose Coastline European Oak when you want genuine hardwood that will stay flat over a slab or in a basement.

It is worth seeing Coastline European Oak in person before deciding. Visit either store, contact us to confirm current stock, and see more in the engineered hardwood range. Because it is rated for radiant heat, it also pairs with the in-floor heating membranes we stock. For the full Fuzion Flooring range, see our Fuzion Flooring page.

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Fuzion Flooring Coastline European Oak?
Fuzion Flooring Coastline European Oak is engineered hardwood, a layer of real oak bonded to a stable multi-ply core. It looks and sands like solid wood but stays flat over concrete, in basements, and through Ontario's humidity. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Can Coastline European Oak go in a basement or over radiant heat?
Yes. Unlike solid hardwood, Coastline European Oak is rated for use on, above, or below grade, including basements and over concrete slabs and over in-floor radiant heat, because the cross-layered core resists the movement that affects solid wood. It still needs a flat, dry subfloor and proper acclimation, which we handle on install.
Can Coastline European Oak be sanded and refinished?
Yes. Coastline European Oak has a 2mm real-wood wear layer, thick enough to sand and refinish at least once over its life.
Where can I see Coastline European Oak near me?
You can see Fuzion Flooring Coastline European Oak at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Grain and finish read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
