Canadian Standard Origins American Walnut Hardwood Flooring

Canadian Standard Origins American Walnut Hardwood Flooring
Canadian Standard Origins American Walnut is hardwood flooring, in a wire brushed finish. Every piece in the line is 3/4" thick, so nothing sits proud of its neighbour. Being real wood, it can be sanded back and refinished instead of torn out. Brushing the face adds grip and hides scuffs. Solid wood is not rated below grade. Use an engineered product in a basement.

Why Origins American Walnut Stands Out

Ask any installer what separates good hardwood from the rest and they will point at the wear layer and the core, not the price tag.

In simple terms: Canadian Standard Origins American Walnut is real plank over an engineered core, the construction that stays flat over concrete, in basements and through Ontario's seasons. We stock it and install it with our own crews.

The boards run 3/4" and 19.05 thick, in 7-1/2" x Random up to 72", with a 1.4mm wear veneer, finished wire brushed. Colourways include Astoria, Dusky Estate, Royal Mile, Surrey Hills and Yorkshire. Warranty coverage is 25 Year Residential.

Decision line: choose Origins American Walnut where you want real wood that can go over concrete and below grade; thicker veneers can be refinished later, which we do on site.

Hardwood rewards proper acclimatization and subfloor prep, which our employed crews handle as part of every quote; see the hardwood installation page. Run a hand over Origins American Walnut at our Mississauga or Barrie store before you decide.

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Canadian Standard Origins American Walnut?
Canadian Standard Origins American Walnut is hardwood flooring, in a wire brushed finish. Every piece in the line is 3/4" thick, so nothing sits proud of its neighbour. Being real wood, it can be sanded back and refinished instead of torn out. Brushing the face adds grip and hides scuffs. Solid wood is not rated below grade. Use an engineered product in a basement.
Can Origins American Walnut go in a basement or over concrete?
Engineered construction is the reason this is possible: the layered core stays stable where solid wood would move. Confirm the specific line's grade rating on the collection page, and our crews handle the moisture testing and preparation as part of the install.
Can Origins American Walnut be refinished?
That depends on the wear layer thickness of the board you choose. Thicker veneers can be professionally sanded and refinished; thinner ones are refreshed rather than fully sanded. We do on-site refinishing with our own crews, so ask about the specific board.
Where can I see Origins American Walnut near me?
You can see it at both Squarefoot Flooring stores, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. A full sample under room light reads very differently from a photo, so come compare it in person before deciding.
