The Marmi Apuani Black in 8" x 8" suits a small room. More grout lines than a big tile, but in a powder room or a laundry that is the point: fewer awkward cuts around the fixtures. The natural surface keeps its texture, which is what you want where feet arrive wet. Porcelain is the hard wearing one. It is what we put down in a hallway, an entry or anywhere boots and grit arrive. The colours in this line are not all rated the same: PEI runs 4 to 5 across them, so check the rating on the one you are actually buying before it goes anywhere busy. Each box covers 11.19 sq ft. For a 100 sq ft room order 10 and you have your ten percent for cuts and a couple spare for repairs later. Worth seeing in person in Mississauga or Barrie, because lighting changes tile more than people expect.
