About this product
Kauri Victoria, 8" x 48", is large enough that the subfloor has to be flat first, because a tile this size telegraphs every dip underneath. The look is worth the prep. The natural surface keeps its texture, which is what you want where feet arrive wet. Fired harder and denser than ceramic, porcelain copes with freeze and thaw as well, so a covered porch or a three season room is fair game. The colours in this line are not all rated the same: PEI runs 4 to 5 across them, so check the rating on the one you are actually buying before it goes anywhere busy. A box holds 15.5 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 8 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece. It is on display in Mississauga and Barrie if you want to see a full sheet rather than a photograph.
