The Kauri Awuanui in 8" x 48" is large format, so you get far fewer grout lines and a floor that reads as one surface rather than a grid. A natural finish holds grip when it is wet and does not show water spotting the way a polished face does. Porcelain is the hard wearing one. It is what we put down in a hallway, an entry or anywhere boots and grit arrive. The colours in this line are not all rated the same: PEI runs 4 to 5 across them, so check the rating on the one you are actually buying before it goes anywhere busy. A box holds 15.5 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 8 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece. Come and see it in Mississauga or Barrie. Tile rarely looks the same in a store as it does on a phone screen.
