Why Green Touch Hickory Stands Out

There is a lot of marketing noise around engineered hardwood, but it comes down to two things that matter: how thick the real-wood layer is, and how stable the core is.

In simple terms: Green Touch Floors Touch Hickory is real hickory over a multi-ply core. The surface is the same wood you would get in a solid floor; the core is what keeps it flat over a slab, in a basement, or through the seasons. We stock it and our crew installs it.

It is real hickory, dramatic grain, natural colour variation, and the hardest common domestic species. Hickory sits around 1820 on the Janka hardness scale, well above the red oak benchmark, so it shrugs off busy traffic. Stability comes from the build: a cross-layered engineered core that takes the seasonal swing in stride instead of telegraphing it into the floor. Widths run from 5 to 7 1/4 inches, so you can keep it classic or go wide-plank and modern. The surface is wire-brushed, which lifts the grain for texture and quietly hides everyday wear. Colours in the range include Klamath, Lyon, Mojave, Omak, and Bayshore.

Decision line: choose Green Touch Hickory when you want genuine hardwood that will stay flat over a slab or in a basement.

Engineered hardwood gives you options solid wood does not: glue-down over concrete, floating, or nail-down over plywood. Our own crew installs Green Touch Floors Touch Hickory across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted, and we flatten and moisture-test the subfloor first, finish the trim, and handle matching stairs. See our hardwood installation page.

We keep Green Touch Hickory at both stores, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages. You can browse the complete Green Touch Floors lineup on our Green Touch Floors page.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Green Touch Floors Touch Hickory?
Green Touch Floors Touch Hickory is engineered hardwood, a layer of real hickory bonded to a stable multi-ply core. It looks and sands like solid wood but stays flat over concrete, in basements, and through Ontario's humidity. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
How hard is Green Touch Hickory, and will it dent?
The hickory surface sits around 1820 on the Janka hardness scale, well above the red oak benchmark of 1290, so it resists dents and busy traffic well. No wood floor is dent-proof, but the wear layer and finish do most of the work.
Where can I see Green Touch Hickory near me?
You can see Green Touch Floors Touch Hickory at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Grain and finish read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
