Why Outer Banks Elite Oak Stands Out

The reason engineered hardwood exists is simple. Concrete slabs, basements, and radiant heat will destroy a solid floor, and engineered was built to handle all three.

In simple terms: Fuzion Flooring Outer Banks Elite Oak is real oak over a multi-ply core. The surface is the same wood you would get in a solid floor; the core is what keeps it flat over a slab, in a basement, or through the seasons. We stock it and our crew installs it.

Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Outer Banks Elite Oak behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.

The detail behind that: It is real oak, a warm, familiar grain that takes stain well and suits almost any room. It carries a 3mm wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. Stability comes from the build: a 3-layer solid core that takes the seasonal swing in stride instead of telegraphing it into the floor. That is why it may be suitable for on-grade or above-grade use, and some collections for below-grade use when approved, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 6 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. A low-sheen finish keeps dust and footprints from showing. Micro-bevelled edges give each plank a defined line and absorb the seasonal movement of a wood floor. It carries a 35-year residential and lifetime structural warranty.

Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.

We keep Outer Banks Elite Oak at both stores, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Since it works over radiant heat, it goes well with the in-floor heating membranes we carry. Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Fuzion Flooring Outer Banks Elite Oak?
Fuzion Flooring Outer Banks Elite Oak is engineered hardwood, a layer of real oak bonded to a stable multi-ply core. It looks and sands like solid wood but stays flat over concrete, in basements, and through Ontario's humidity. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Can Outer Banks Elite Oak go in a basement or over radiant heat?
Yes. Unlike solid hardwood, Outer Banks Elite Oak is rated for use on, above, or below grade, including basements and over concrete slabs and over in-floor radiant heat, because the cross-layered core resists the movement that affects solid wood. It still needs a flat, dry subfloor and proper acclimation, which we handle on install.
Can Outer Banks Elite Oak be sanded and refinished?
Yes. Outer Banks Elite Oak has a 3mm real-wood wear layer, thick enough to sand and refinish at least once over its life.
Where can I see Outer Banks Elite Oak near me?
You can see Fuzion Flooring Outer Banks Elite Oak at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Grain and finish read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
