Fuzion Flooring Classical Elegance Walnut Engineered Hardwood

Fuzion Flooring Classical Elegance Walnut is walnut engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core, rated for below-grade rooms and radiant heat, with a 3mm wear layer you can refinish. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie stores, or browse online.

Most people choose engineered hardwood for the look and keep it for the stability, the part you only appreciate after a few Ontario winters.

In simple terms: Fuzion Flooring Classical Elegance Walnut is engineered hardwood, which means a real walnut surface over a cross-layered core. You get the look of solid wood with the stability to put it over concrete or in a basement. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it in-house.

The wood and the build: It is real walnut, a deep chocolate tone with a soft, formal character. On the Janka scale Walnut runs about 1010, below oak, so it favours lower-traffic, formal spaces. It carries a 3mm dry-sawn wear layer, real sawn wood you can refinish like solid hardwood at least once over its life. What you are paying for is stability. A 3-layer solid core holds its shape across the seasonal humidity swing that moves solid wood. That is why it can go on, above, or below grade, including basements and concrete slabs, and over in-floor radiant heat, places solid hardwood cannot. Planks run 7 1/2 inches wide, a wide-plank look that shows off the grain. A low-sheen finish keeps dust and footprints from showing. The planks have micro-bevelled edges, which frame each board and hide the slight height differences that come with real wood. It carries a 35-year residential and lifetime structural warranty.

Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.

Decision line: with a thick wear layer, Classical Elegance Walnut behaves like solid hardwood you can refinish, but goes in basements and over radiant heat where solid cannot. It is the choice when you want one floor to do both.

Wood reads differently across a full floor than in a sample chip, so it is worth seeing Classical Elegance Walnut under room light at either store. It is radiant-rated, so it pairs with the in-floor heating membranes we stock for in-floor heating projects. Contact us to check availability, or browse the full hardwood flooring range.
