Why Designer Stands Out

Good vinyl is not about the picture on the plank, it is about the wear layer on top and the core underneath.

In simple terms: Grandeur Flooring Designer is luxury vinyl plank, a wood-look floor that is 100% waterproof and built to take real-life traffic. It is rigid-core, Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.

The build and the spec: rigid-core stands for stone polymer composite, and that core is the point: it is hard, rigid, and stable, so the plank stays flat over uneven subfloors and ignores the temperature swings that move cheaper vinyl. It clicks together as a floating floor. The 20 mil wear layer puts it in heavy-residential, light-commercial territory, which is where vinyl earns its keep in a family home. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. Water is a non-issue: it is 100% waterproof through the whole plank, which is what makes it the go-to for bathrooms, kitchens, and below-grade rooms. It carries an IIC rating around 72 and an STC around 70, so it clears the sound-transfer rules most GTA condo boards set, a common sticking point in high-rises. Planks run up to 5 inches wide and 24 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. On the health side, it is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality and GREENGUARD certified. Colours in the range include Windpoint, Sambro, Rice Lake, North Head, and Rhodes.

Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. We check the subfloor, prep it, and set the floor, then handle the trim. Browse our projects or the vinyl installation page.

Decision line: Designer is the choice when you want a thin, rock-solid, fully waterproof floor that hides an imperfect subfloor and goes just about anywhere.

We keep Designer at both stores, where the texture and colour read properly. Contact us for stock, or start from our Toronto and Mississauga vinyl pages. Our is flooring waterproof guide explains what waterproof actually covers. For the full Grandeur Flooring range, see our Grandeur Flooring page.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Grandeur Flooring Designer?
Grandeur Flooring Designer is an SPC (stone polymer composite) luxury vinyl plank, 100% waterproof, with a 20 mil wear layer. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Is Designer really waterproof?
Yes. Designer is 100% waterproof through the whole plank, not just water-resistant on the surface, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements. Standing water will not damage the floor itself, though you should still wipe up spills so they do not sit at the edges.
How durable is Designer?
Durability on vinyl comes down to the wear layer, and Designer has a 20 mil layer, a heavy-residential to light-commercial thickness that handles pets, kids, and busy rooms. The mil rating predicts how long it keeps looking new better than the overall thickness does.
Is Designer suitable for a condo?
It can be. Designer carries an IIC rating around 72, which helps it meet the sound requirements most Toronto and Mississauga condo boards set. Always confirm your building's exact rating before ordering, and we can help match it.
Where can I see Designer near me?
You can see Grandeur Flooring Designer at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Texture and colour read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
