Two vinyl planks can look identical on the shelf and cost very differently, and the gap almost always comes down to the wear layer, the one spec big-box vinyl keeps thin.
In simple terms: Grandeur Flooring Anchor 7 is a rigid Evolution vinyl plank with a genuine 20 mil wear layer, well above builder grade, and it is fully waterproof. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it with our own team.
The core is stone polymer composite, a dense rigid base that stays dead flat and dimensionally stable, so it will not expand, contract or telegraph small subfloor flaws the way flexible vinyl can. It floats into place over most existing surfaces. The 20 mil wear layer is the sweet spot for busy homes and light commercial rooms, well above the 6 to 12 mil common in big-box vinyl. Planks run up to 7 inches wide and 48 inches long. It is FloorScore and GREENGUARD certified. Colours in the range include Sambro, Oak Island, Peggy's Cove, Windpoint, and Battery Point.
Being 100% waterproof, it belongs in the rooms that rule out wood and laminate, full baths, laundry rooms, kitchens and basements, and it carries an IIC around 72 and an STC around 70 with an attached acoustic pad for condo approval.
Decision line: Anchor 7 is the pick when you want a proven wear layer and rock-solid stability without paying for a commercial-grade board, the sensible middle of the range.
Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the GTA, Barrie and Simcoe County. We check the subfloor, prep it, set the floor and handle the trim. See our projects or the vinyl installation page.
See Anchor 7 at either store, where the texture and colour read properly. Contact us for stock, and read the is flooring waterproof guide. For the full lineup, see the Grandeur Flooring page.
