Roca Tile Dolce + Vita Gris Ceramic 12" x 25"

Roca Tile's Dolce + Vita Gris is a 12" x 25" ceramic tile, made in Spain and 9 mm thick. Roca Dolce + Vita Gris is for a backsplash, a shower surround or a feature wall. It solves the wall problem a floor tile does not: it is lighter, cuts more cleanly around an outlet, and costs less per square foot than putting a floor tile up a wall. The trade-off is strength. A ceramic body cuts more cleanly and costs less than porcelain, but it absorbs more water, which is why it belongs on a wall and not underfoot. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, which lets a tiler close the joint to about an eighth of an inch. It also means the substrate has to be flat, because a tight joint leaves nowhere to hide a dip. Most people pair it with a porcelain floor tile from the same collection, so the room runs one tone from the floor up the wall, and with a matching or contrasting grout depending on whether you want the pattern to read. A box of Dolce + Vita Gris tile holds 4 pieces and covers 11.62 square feet. Order the area you are covering plus about ten per cent for cuts and breakage.
