Why Roca Tile Stands Out

Roca Tile is a Spanish manufacturer with more than a century behind it, part of the Lamosa Group since 2021. The Canadian range is made mostly in Spain and Brazil, and it splits cleanly into two halves: glazed porcelain for floors and ceramic for walls. That split matters more than it sounds. A porcelain body is pressed and fired denser, absorbs 0.5 per cent water or less, and carries a wear rating that tells you which floors it belongs on. A ceramic wall tile is lighter and cuts more cleanly, which is what makes it practical on a backsplash, and it is not meant to go underfoot. Several Roca collections are built as a pair, a porcelain floor tile and a ceramic Suite wall tile in the same colour, so a bathroom can run one tone from the floor up the wall without compromising either surface. Formats run from small handmade-look wall tile through to 24" x 48" rectified porcelain. Rectified means the edges are cut square after firing, which lets a tiler close the grout joint to about an eighth of an inch and is what makes a large-format floor read as one surface. We stock the range at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga and Barrie, and our own installation crews fit it. Every product page here carries the wear rating, the slip figure where Roca publishes one, and what a box actually covers, because those three things decide whether a tile suits your room and how much of it you need to order.
