Affiliated Weavers Nostalgia Area Rug

Affiliated Weavers Nostalgia is a classic area rug, polyester, available at Squarefoot Flooring. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

An area rug does three jobs at once: it defines a zone in an open room, protects the floor beneath it, and makes a hard surface feel warm and soft.

In simple terms: Affiliated Weavers Nostalgia is a finished area rug, a movable piece that lays over any floor, no installation needed. It adds warmth and softness over hardwood, vinyl, laminate, or tile and comes in set sizes. Squarefoot Flooring carries it, and we can help you pick the right size for your room.

The weave and the feel: This is a machine-woven rug, so the design is precise and repeatable and the value is strong, while today's power looms make it genuinely durable. It is made from polyester, prized for a soft, slightly shiny hand and built-in stain resistance. It feels plush and is gentle on the budget, best in steadier-traffic rooms. A low 7mm pile keeps it sleek and easy to maintain, sits well under doors and dining chairs, and handles traffic without showing wear. It is densely woven, which helps it hold its shape, resist crushing, and feel substantial underfoot. The look is classic, with traditional patterning that anchors a more formal or heritage-leaning room. It is woven in Turkey. It comes in colours such as Blue, Ivory, White, and Orange.

It works in living rooms, under a dining table, in bedrooms, and as a layer over hardwood, vinyl, or laminate to add warmth and protect the floor. A rug also defines a zone in an open-plan space and softens sound in a busy or echoey room.

It comes in sizes around 5 by 7 feet, 7 by 9 feet, and 8 by 10 feet. Sizing is where most rugs go wrong, so a quick rule of thumb: in a living room, the rug should be large enough that at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs sit on it, which visually ties the seating together. Under a dining table, pick a size that extends about two feet past the table on all sides so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. In a bedroom, run it past the sides and foot of the bed, or use runners on each side. We are happy to measure with you.

One thing worth adding: a rug pad. It keeps the rug from sliding, protects the floor underneath, adds a little cushion, and helps the rug last longer. The synthetic fibers spot-clean easily, so most spills wipe up with mild soap and water.

Decision line: Nostalgia leads with softness and value, best in a bedroom or living room where a plush feel matters most.

Rug colour and scale read very differently in a room than on a screen, so it is worth seeing Nostalgia in person at either showroom, where we can also help you settle on the right size. Contact us to check stock, or browse the full area rugs range.
