A natural finish holds grip when it is wet and does not show water spotting the way a polished face does. Fired harder and denser than ceramic, porcelain copes with freeze and thaw as well, so a covered porch or a three season room is fair game. PEI 4 is rated past residential traffic, so a busy hallway, a shop floor or an office is within range. A box holds 9.69 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 12 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece.
