Fired harder and denser than ceramic, porcelain copes with freeze and thaw as well, so a covered porch or a three season room is fair game. A box holds 12.12 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 10 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece. Worth seeing in person in Mississauga or Barrie, because lighting changes tile more than people expect.
