Ceratec Nektar White Matte Porcelain Hexagon Mosaic 2"

A mosaic is the easiest way to give a backsplash, a niche or a shower wall some detail without changing the whole room.

In simple terms: Nektar White Hexagon is a 2-inch porcelain hexagon mosaic for floors and walls, indoors and out.

It is the matte finish in White from the Ceratec Nektar range.

Each sheet measures 10.6" x 10.9", with 2" pieces. It is 6 mm thick. The spec sheet lists PEI IV surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading below 0.42 and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V1, uniform. It is designed by Ceratec in Canada and made in China. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits backsplashes, feature walls, shower walls, dry floor accents and commercial floors such as stores and offices. Pick it as the feature, and run a plain field tile around it.

Each sheet covers 0.8 sq ft, so a 30 sq ft kitchen backsplash takes 38 sheets, or 42 sheets with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. It is sold by the sheet, and a box holds 20 sheets. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 138 sheets with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but an outdoor floor also needs the right base and slope, so ask us before planning it outside. Its wet slip reading is below 0.42, the level most people look for on a wet floor, so keep it off shower floors and wet entries.

In this size, Nektar also comes in Black. White also comes in 1". For edges, Ceratec recommends a 5/16" trim profile.
