Ceratec Nektar White Glossy Porcelain Hexagon Mosaic 1"

A mosaic is the easiest way to give a backsplash, a niche or a shower wall some detail without changing the whole room.

In simple terms: Nektar White Hexagon is a 1-inch porcelain hexagon mosaic for dry floors and walls.

It is the glossy finish in White from the Ceratec Nektar range.

Each sheet measures 10" x 11.75", with 1" pieces. It is 6 mm thick. The spec sheet lists PEI IV surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading below 0.42 and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V1, uniform. It is designed by Ceratec in Canada and made in China. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits backsplashes, feature walls and shower walls. Pick it as the feature, and run a plain field tile around it.

Each sheet covers 0.82 sq ft, so a 30 sq ft kitchen backsplash takes 37 sheets, or 41 sheets with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. It is sold by the sheet, and a box holds 20 sheets. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 135 sheets with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but we would not put this finish on a patio, steps or a pool deck. On a floor, keep the glossy face out of showers and away from entry doors where wet boots come in, because it gets slick when wet.

In this size, Nektar also comes in Grey and Black. White also comes in 2". For edges, Ceratec recommends a 5/16" trim profile.
