Why Porcea Stone Stands Out

Pool decks, patios and driveways in Toronto, Mississauga and Barrie take salt, frost and hard summer sun. Porcea Stone is outdoor porcelain made for exactly that, and it is on display at both our showrooms.

Outdoor porcelain is fired dense: rated R11 for slip with a DCOF of 0.42 or higher, water absorption of 0.5% or less and frost resistance, so it does not need sealing. Most of the range is made in Italy.

In simple terms: pick the look, then the thickness, 2 cm for foot traffic and 3 cm where cars go, with a thin 1 cm floor tile in many of the same looks.

Choose Porcea Stone for pool decks, patios, walkways, roof terraces and driveways. Skip the 2 cm paver for a driveway on gravel; that needs the 3 cm paver or a concrete base.

We install what we sell with our own crews, not subcontractors, for homes and businesses across Toronto, Mississauga, Barrie and the GTA.

Common Questions About Porcea Stone Flooring

Quick answers about Porcea Stone, materials, and shopping at Squarefoot Flooring.

What is Porcea Stone?
Porcea Stone is outdoor floor porcelain: pavers, L-copings, cobblestones, stepping stones and pedestals for pool decks, patios, walkways, roof terraces and driveways. Most of the range is made in Italy, and it is on display at both our showrooms, in Mississauga and Barrie.
Which thickness do I need?
Use 2 cm pavers for patios, walkways and pool decks; for a driveway, 2 cm goes down on a concrete base. Use 3 cm pavers where cars drive on a gravel base. The 5 cm cobblestones are made for heavy vehicle traffic, and the 1 cm tile is a thin floor tile for areas with no vehicle traffic.
Is Porcea Stone slippery around a pool?
The 2 cm and 3 cm pavers are rated R11 for slip, with a DCOF of 0.42 or higher, which is why they are used on pool decks and walkways.
Will Porcea Stone hold up to our winters?
Yes. It is frost resistant and absorbs 0.5% of water or less, so freeze-thaw, de-icing salt and pool water do not get into it. It does not need sealing.
Can Porcea Stone go on a roof terrace or balcony?
Yes, on pedestals. Pedestals raise the pavers so cables can run underneath and rainwater drains away. The 3 cm paver adds weight where wind uplift is a concern.
Do you have matching copings for pools and steps?
Yes. Porcea Stone L-copings are 2 cm thick with a 2" drop, in the same look as the pavers, for pool edges, steps and planter walls. They need adhesive on both the top and the drop.
Is Porcea Stone in stock?
Some sizes are stocked. Other sizes and colours are made to order, with a lead time of about 8 to 10 weeks. Each product page shows which applies.
Where can I see Porcea Stone near me?
