Why Dune Stands Out

Dune is a Spanish manufacturer based in Castellon, the ceramic heartland of Spain, and it is known for the decorative end of tile rather than the plain field formats. Most of the range is small format: 3" x 11", 2.5" x 9", 4.5" x 4.5" and similar. That is a deliberate choice, not a limitation. A small tile follows a curve, cuts into a shower niche and turns a corner in a way a large-format tile cannot, and it is what makes a zellige-style or patterned wall possible. The trade-off is grout. A small format gives you far more joint per square foot than a 12" x 24", which means more to seal and more to keep clean, and it takes longer to lay. That is the cost of the look. Most of the range is rated for walls, and some of it is porcelain rated for floors as well. Every product page here says which, because putting a wall tile on a floor is the single most expensive mistake in tile. We stock Dune at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms and our own installation crews fit it. Each page carries the size, the finish, what a box covers and where the tile should not go, because those are the things that decide whether it suits your room.
