Anderson Tuftex San Lucas Anderson Tuftex Broadloom Carpet
Broadloom carpet is the wall-to-wall classic: a wide roll stretched over a cushion for a soft, near-continuous floor. Picking the right one is about matching the pile and fiber to how the room is used.
In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex San Lucas Anderson Tuftex is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind that comes on a wide roll and is stretched over a separate cushion for a soft, warm, quiet floor. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.
Think bedrooms, family rooms, home theatres, stairs, and lower levels: anywhere you want a soft, warm, quiet floor. Carpet also absorbs sound between rooms and floors, which helps in condos and busy households. Keep it out of bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms where moisture is a constant.
The detail behind that: It is a loop carpet, where the yarns stay looped rather than cut. Loops wear hard and hide dirt well, which is why this style holds up in hallways, stairs, and busy rooms. One honest caution: pet claws can catch a loop, so it is less ideal in homes with cats or dogs that scratch. This one runs on nylon, the fiber to choose when durability matters. Nylon stands up to traffic and repeated cleaning better than polyester, making it a sound pick for stairs and main living areas. It sits on a Softbac backing, softer and more pliable than an old-style rigid backing, so it tucks neatly around a room and resists the rippling that stiffer backings can develop. At 35 oz per square yard, it is a lighter-weight carpet suited to bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms. It comes on standard 12-foot-wide rolls, so a typical room needs only one or two planned seams. It is USA-made. Colours in the range include White Blush, Aged White, Natural, Biscuit, Fleece, and Sparkling.
Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost. Our in-house team sets the tack strips, lays the carpet underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams the seams flat. We handle stairs and transitions too. See our projects for examples.
Decision line: San Lucas Anderson Tuftex is the durable, soil-hiding pick for stairs, hallways, and busy rooms; if you have pets that claw, ask us about a cut-pile alternative.
See San Lucas Anderson Tuftex in person before deciding, since pile and colour shift across a room and under different light. It is at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms; contact us about availability, and if it is for a lower level, our best flooring for a basement guide is worth a read.
